Help Present a VBS in Cincinnati, Ohio: June 9–13, 2014

Janet Birkmann

Are you, your church, your youth group, looking for a short-term mission opportunity for this summer? How about helping another OP church present their Vacation Bible School?

Good Shepherd OPC in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be hosting an evening VBS from Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, 2014, and they are in need of a team of 8 to 10 volunteers to assist them in executing their plan!

Elder Robert Taylor and a few church members will oversee this ministry, selecting the curriculum, buying supplies, and planning the schedule of activities. The team’s tasks would include helping with some last-minute canvassing of the surrounding neighborhoods to invite families to sign up their children; welcoming and registering the children at the beginning of the week; interacting with the children by playing games, making crafts and serving snacks; and setting up and cleaning up each evening.

A strong turnout is expected, and the folks at Good Shepherd anticipate putting on a great program with the help of their brothers and sisters in the OPC!

All volunteers will be housed by church families. During the day, there may be some prep work that needs to be done for the evening VBS, but you’ll also have leisure time during which you may want to visit nearby attractions such as the Creation Museum or King’s Island theme Park.
