From the Editor. The retirement of the Rev. G. I. Williamson as the editor of Ordained Servant at the end of 2005 signals a period of transition for Ordained Servant. This journal for church officers is one of the means being employed by the Committee on Christian Education to fulfill its mandate to help equip ordained officers in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Shortly after Mr. Williamson's resignation I was appointed by the General Secretary to be the new editor. Words cannot adequately express either my enthusiasm for this new endeavor or my appreciation for my predecessor. I am humbled and honored to take on this responsibility. My goal is to build on the pioneering work of Mr. Williamson.

Throughout 2006 we will be posting a sampling of the best of past articles, while I recruit writers for new articles to be published beginning in 2007. At the end of 2007 we will be publishing all of the new articles in a single annual volume.

Ordained Servant exists to help encourage, inform, and equip church officers for faithful, effective, and God glorifying ministry in the visible church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Its primary audience is ministers, elders and deacons of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, as well as interested officers from other Presbyterian and Reformed churches. Through high quality editorials, articles, and book reviews we will endeavor to stimulate clear thinking and the consistent practice of historic Presbyterianism.

Blessings in the Lamb,
Gregory Edward Reynolds
