January 11 Today in OPC History

MTIOPC Begins

 

On this date in 2000, the Ministerial Training Institute of the OPC began the first intensive training sessions in its history at the OPC Administrative offices in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Participants included: OPC History, John Muether (instructor), Chad Bond, Andrew Preston, Ben Snodgrass, and Robert Tarullo: Presbyterian Polity, Stuart Jones (instructor), Brian Nolder and Benjamin Westerveld; Westminster Standards, G.I. Williamson (instructor), Adam Gustavson, John Ferguson, Robert Van Manen, Chad Bond, Robert Tarullo, and Andrew Preston. Instructor Robert W. Eckardt in the Presbyterian Polity course suffered a slight stroke prior to the meeting and Donald Duff ably filled in for him on short notice.

Nine families in the area provided hospitality. Mrs. Karen Mansor of Trinity OPC, Hatboro, planned and provided meals with the help of others in the Trinity congregation. MTIOPC administrator James Thomas and CCE General Secretary Thomas Tyson were also present.
