Presbytery of Dakotas

On September 30, 1936, five ministers and eight elders meeting in Bismarck, North Dakota, established the Presbytery of the Dakotas. The Rev. Samuel J. Allen, of Carson, North Dakota, was elected Moderator of the new presbytery. The Rev. E. E. Matteson, of Wilton, North Dakota, was chosen Stated Clerk.

The Rev. David K. Myers, of Thunderhawk, South Dakota, read a resolution that declared the Presbytery of the Dakotas to be the true spiritual successor of the presbyteries of that body known as the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, as it existed prior to the apostate actions of the 148th (1936) General Assembly of that body.

Ministerial members, in addition to Mr. Allen, Mr. Matteson and Mr. Myers, were the Rev. C. A. Balcom, Wilton, South Dakota, and the Rev. Walter Magee, Hamill, South Dakota.
