Are you Ready for the Pastoral Ministry?

Richard Gerber

If you are a seminarian studying for the pastoral ministry, consider signing up today to attend one of three Readiness for Ministry Seminars offered at three seminaries:

  • February 8–9 at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Fla. – Keynote speaker: Jonathan Hutchison, pastor of Reformation OPC in Morgantown, W.Va. and an RTS Orlando graduate (2009)
  • February 22–23 at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa. – Keynote speaker: Roth Reason, pastor of Redeemer OPC in Danville, Pa. and a WTS graduate (2005)
  • March 1–2 at Westminster Seminary California, Escondido, Ca. – Keynote speaker: Joel Fick, pastor of Redemption OPC in Gainesville, Fla. and a WSCA graduate (2003)

The Readiness for Ministry Seminars are geared for men who have completed at least one year of full-time seminary training. You don’t need to be a member of the OPC to attend the free seminars. If you live a distance from the seminaries, travel aid may be available to help cover expenses.

Readiness for Ministry Seminar

At the seminar, you will learn more about ministry in the OPC; network with OPC general secretaries, ministers, and elders; find out about internships and ministry positions; and learn more about ministry from a Reformed perspective.

During the Friday and Saturday event, the seminarians will introduce themselves to the group, give a 10-minute exhortation of a Scripture passage assigned in advance, and be part of a group trying to solve typical problems in Reformed ministries.

The following Monday, each participant may meet with one of the evaluators to discuss his observations of the student’s gifts.

Register today at chmce.org.
