The Ministerial Training Institute of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (MTIOPC) announces two courses for the Winter 2025 - 2026 semester:

• Homiletics, taught by Rev. Douglas B. Clawson & Rev. Dale A. Van Dyke (two credits)
• Reformed Evangelism, taught by Rev. Jeremiah W. Montgomery and Rev. Dr. Eric B. Watkins (two credits)

The mandatory intensive training sessions for the classes will be held January 27-29, 2026, at Covenant Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Saint Augustine, Florida. Non-commuting students arrive on Monday, January 26, flying into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), located 53 miles from Saint Augustine. Classes will end by 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29.  Return flights from JAX may be scheduled after 1:30 p.m. January 29, 2026.

Please note:  If flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the only option for you and/or is a significant cost benefit, please schedule your flight to arrive no later than 3 PM on Monday, January 26 and depart no earlier than 2:30 PM on Thursday, January 29. A limited pick up/drop off window is arranged with only 1 pick up time and 1 drop off time.  If your flight arrives earlier or departs later than these times, you will need to wait at the airport. You will be responsible for your own transportation (no Travel Scholarship) outside these timeframes.

Classes begin October 22, 2025, with online reading and writing assignments. Students may only sign up for one course and will receive pass/fail grades at the completion of their coursework.

All students must pay a $50 registration fee that is fully refundable upon successful completion of the course.

Tuition is free for OPC ministers, licentiates, and men under care. Tuition is an additional $50 for OPC elders and $100 for non-OPC ministers. OPC pastors, licentiates, and men under care of a presbytery also qualify for a travel scholarship of up to $450 to help defray the cost of travel to Intensive Training. An additional $100 for travel expenses also is available if matched by your local session or presbytery.

All students will be housed in double-occupancy hotel rooms. Any student who prefers a single-occupancy hotel room must pay an additional $200 fee to offset the costs.

Please send in your registration form and fees by the October 15th deadline. Enrollment for the Homiletics class is limited to 10 students.

Registration is finalized when your registration form, refundable $50 registration fee, and any applicable tuition and hotel fees are received. A registration form and course descriptions are attached as well as available with the MTIOPC catalog on the web at https://www.opc.org/cce/MTI.html.
