May 29 Today in OPC History

On May 29, 1998, the Sixty-Fifth General Assembly meeting at Reformed Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, adopted a "Resolution of Thanks" to the Lord for Mr. William Vermeulen and his service in home missions for the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The Resolution noted that Mr. Vermeulen began his service as Regional Home Missionary of the Presbytery of the Midwest in 1980. In 1984, he was appointed Director of Evangelism and Church Development. In this roll working alongside three general secretaries, he conducted seminars about outreach and evangelism, provided consultation for church planters, and authored papers, articles, brochures and church planting manuals. The Resolution also expressed thanks to God for his wife, Gladys, and her support for her husband's ministry.
