Presbytery of Ohio

On September 14, 1936, the Presbytery of Ohio made up of the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana was organized in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Rev. J. Gresham Machen attended and spoke on the subject, "Evangelism - False and True."

Four ministers were enrolled, Carl Ahlfeldt of Indianapolis, Indiana, Everett DeVelde of Cincinnati, Thomas Mitchell of Youngstown, Ohio, and J. Lyle Shaw of Cleveland, Ohio.

The congregations that affiliated with the new presbytery were First Church, Cincinnati; Trinity Chapel, Newport, Kentucky; Covenant Church, Indianapolis; Providence Church, Youngstown; Covenant Church, Marian, Ohio; and Grace Church, Buechel, Kentucky.
