September 20 Today in OPC History

On September 20, 1971, the Presbytery of Philadelphia licensed Robert Drake and Charles Dennison, received the Rev. Thomas Tyson from the Reformed Churches of New Zealand, and determined to ordain and install LeRoy Greer as pastor of Kirkwood OPC. Ten days later on October 1, Mr. Tyson was installed as pastor of Trinity OPC, Hatboro. On October 8, Mr. Greer was ordained and installed as pastor at Kirkwood.

Mr. Dennison married Virginia Graham on October 9. He would be ordained by the Presbytery of New Jersey on May 9, 1972 to serve as the pastor of the independent Fairfield Church. On February 10, 1972, Mr. Drake was ordained and installed as pastor of Calvary OPC, Glenside.
