October 28 Today in OPC History

OPC church planters, regional home missionaries, presbytery missions committee chairmen and the denominational Home Missions staff were meeting and participating in seminars on this day in 1983 at the Glen Foerd Conference Center in northwest Philadelphia. The featured speakers addressed such topics as witnessing through worship, getting people involved in ministry, developing leadership training, organizing congregational evangelism programs, and the importance of personal growth in holiness.

CHMCE General Secretary Lewis Ruff and administrative assistant Jack Julian also discussed the future of home missions in the OPC with Regional home missionaries Leo Frailey (Presbytery of Ohio). Ed Kellogg (Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic), Chip Stonehouse (Presbytery of Philadelphia), and Bill Vermeulen (Presbytery of the Midwest).
