January 19 Today in OPC History

On this date, the Rev. George Miladin was born in Long Beach, California. Ordained in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Synod in 1965, Mr. Miladin accepted a call to serve as pastor of New Life OPC in Point Loma, California in 1978. At New Life OPC for the next twenty-seven years, he was active in the Presbytery of Southern California and on the denominational level serving on the Committee of Christian Education. For the CCE, he authored a booklet on Reformed Evangelism in the 1990s.

A gifted musician, Mr. Miladin produced a very popular album of piano hymn arrangements, With Christ Within The Doors. He was sought by numerous churches for worship workshops and would often serve as the accompanist at general assemblies.

In 2005, Mr. Miladin and New Life OPC transferred to the Presbyterian Church in America.
