Are you Ready for the Pastoral Ministry?
If you are a seminarian studying for the pastoral ministry, consider signing up today to attend one of three Readiness for Ministry Seminars offered at three seminaries:
- February 8–9 at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Fla. – Keynote speaker: Jonathan Hutchison, pastor of Reformation OPC in Morgantown, W.Va. and an RTS Orlando graduate (2009)
- February 22–23 at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa. – Keynote speaker: Roth Reason, pastor of Redeemer OPC in Danville, Pa. and a WTS graduate (2005)
- March 1–2 at Westminster Seminary California, Escondido, Ca. – Keynote speaker: Joel Fick, pastor of Redemption OPC in Gainesville, Fla. and a WSCA graduate (2003)
The Readiness for Ministry Seminars are geared for men who have completed at least one year of full-time seminary training. You don’t need to be a member of the OPC to attend the free seminars. If you live a distance from the seminaries, travel aid may be available to help cover expenses.
At the seminar, you will learn more about ministry in the OPC; network with OPC general secretaries, ministers, and elders; find out about internships and ministry positions; and learn more about ministry from a Reformed perspective.
During the Friday and Saturday event, the seminarians will introduce themselves to the group, give a 10-minute exhortation of a Scripture passage assigned in advance, and be part of a group trying to solve typical problems in Reformed ministries.
The following Monday, each participant may meet with one of the evaluators to discuss his observations of the student’s gifts.
